Heart of God in Uganda is actively running a fundraiser to get a copy of The Word of God into the hands of each child at Kings Primary School in Bunambutye. The Bibles we are providing are illustrated for the African culture. This is a Christian based school in a very remote region. They currently have about 280 students attending. Although the school is Christian based it's open to anyone wanting to attend. Many of the families are muslim and have agreed to allow their children to attend. This is God at work, and we can only imagine the impact these Bibles will have on each child and their family.
Prayerfully consider a donation. These children may never know your name, but they will always remember your kindness.

"Train up a child in the way he should go:
and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
(Proverbs 22:6)

Imagine one Christian School in Southern California and one heart of incredible compassion for the needs of the orphans in Uganda ... that's all it took to make it possible for the children in Tororo, Uganda to own their very own pair of shoes. Many of these children have never had a pair of shoes and although they're "only" flip-flops, they will protect their little feet from stones, rocks, insects, and unclean things they have been accustomed to walking through with bare feet for their entire lives.
Denise Matthews and her husband, Mark, visited the school and shared with the students about the children in Tororo. The students had been given a flyer explaining the program, asking them each to bring in one pair of flip-flops. When Denise and Mark arrived, they were overwhemled by the response of the students. There were 196 pair of brand new flip-flops! The fourth and fifth grade students were in chapel and full of questions about the children in Uganda. Mark was eager to share a message with them that made the plight of the less fortunate so interesting to them. The children left the chapel service with a heightened awareness of the need to reach out and give so others may realize some of the blessings we all take for granted.
There were some parents in the chapel as well as about 200 children. After the presentation was completed, the Principal came forward to thank Denise and Mark for allowing their school to participate in such a wonderful fundraiser. He then informed them that one of the parents was so moved by the presentation that she quickly jumped in her car, drove home, and came back with 200 more flip-flops for the Tororo orphans.
So, 396 pair of brand new shoes are ready to be shipped to Uganda. The school principal was so caught up in the giving that he asked the children if they would agree to donate the day's offering from the fourth and fifth graders to the orphanage in Tororo. They eagerly agreed and cheers were heard throughout the room as a $200 donation was collected for the Tororo kids!
We praise God for the generosity of the school and its administration. What a powerful witness this has been to their students. While providing something as simple and inexpensive as a pair of flip-flops, they have literally touched the heart of God, given sacrificially to help the Tororo kids, and broadened their understanding of the needs of those less fortunate.
